Tire-Coupled Simulation

Defiance's tire-coupled simulation testing can be performed on a variety of different vehicle types – from motorcycles to Class 8 trucks at ambient conditions or in large drive-in environmental chambers capable of a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, humidity control to 90% RH and near-infra-red sunloading

Spindle-Coupled Simulation

Defiance has several MTS 329 Passenger Car (PC) and Light Truck (LT) rated simulators capable of providing up to 17 channels of real-time input to perform a variety of full vehicle durability tests up to 12,000 lb. GVW.

Multi-Axis Simulation Table (MAST)

In some instances when twist is not a concern, a Body-in-White test can be performed on a MAST system. Defiance has performed many of these types specifically on pick-up boxes, doors/closures and off-road vehicle cabs. Our 6 x 8 ft. environmental MAST system is designed to handle the size and mass of supporting this type of work.

Closure/Cyclic Testing

Defiance has also perfected a method of performing ‘swing-metal’ or closure testing for components such as hood, trunk, door and tailgates. Sometimes performed as ‘Key Life Tests’, closure testing can be performed in both ambient and environmental conditions with functional operations such as door lock and window cycling.
