Many vehicle systems and components experience complex in-service loading conditions making it difficult for a test engineer to design an equivalent block cycle or constant amplitude durability test. This is especially true for the systems and components subject to multi-directional inputs or frequency dependent phenomena
Often, time consuming proving ground or full vehicle simulations are not the most effective solution. In these cases, a component or system simulation may be most appropriate.
The real-time simulation of component and systems is provided using MTS style multi-axis shaker tables (MAST) Systems. Defiance currently has (14) MAST systems in a variety of sizes and configurations to support the most demanding needs.
Defiance has developed a simulation test to be used in the evaluation of steering components and systems. This system is unique in that it allows for a rotational input at the steering wheel in addition to 4 degrees of input at each spindle.
